Land Rover Defender 90 For Sale
When it comes to boxy two-door SUVs, the Land Rover Defender 90 carries on the tradition that was established by its ancestor. But this is no ordinary two-door; it’s a real go-to off-roader that can handle the most demanding terrain.
Are Land Rover Defenders expensive to maintain?
Compared to its predecessor, the new defender 90 for sale is even more comfortable, composed and refined on the pavement than before, as well as a lot more capable off-road. In addition, it offers better fuel economy and a more extensive array of safety technology than the old version did.
Its powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine puts out 395 horsepower, which is more than enough to get the Defender up and running. It’s mated to an automatic transmission, and the powertrain produces effortless acceleration that belies the Defender’s huge size.
The Defender’s off-road traction control system is competent, too, and the center diff is locked when you need it. It’s also got a clever Terrain Response system that lets you select Auto, Grass, Gravel, Snow, Mud Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl for a plethora of off-road settings.
In fact, my time off-roading in the Defender proved to be a lot more enjoyable than I ever imagined it could be. That’s largely thanks to the vehicle’s ability to do all the thinking for you: It simply selects the right mode, whether that’s Auto or any of the others.
Its remarkably roomy back seat was another welcome surprise, too. It was easy to get in and out of, and occupants were able to sit up high with good views to the sides. It also has a roof that slides up to provide an extra sunroof when you need it, making the rear seating area feel even more spacious than before.
